Synopsis[]
A wife who is unable to conceive finds her husband is having an affair. She calls that lady to her house and holds her at knifepoint. Team One tries to contain the situation but members disagree on their approach in debrief.
Plot[]
Sam stays over at Jules' house but Jules looks around outside before they both exit for work. She's adamant on keeping their relationship a secret so much that she will drop Sam off to work three blocks away and make sure he enters later via another entrance. Sarah and Josh Scott go through another unsuccessful pregnancy screening. Though Sarah is determined to keep trying, her husband doesn't want to waste anymore money and the doctor doesn't want to recommend another test. After an argument in their car, Sarah returns home, where she tears up the room where her future baby was suppose to live. She then hears her husband's Blackberry starting to ring and discovers suggestive text messages from someone named Hannah. She text back, luring Hannah to her house and accuses her of having an affair. When Hannah tries to leave, Sarah pulls out a knife. In terror, Hannah frantically calls 911.
Meanwhile, Team One is on patrol for gangs when they receive the 911 from the Scott residence. At first they think it's a break-in before learning about the hostage situation. Sarah refuses all attempts to negotiate as she tries prying answers from Hannah about whether or not she had an affair with Josh. As the two women hole up in the baby's room, Josh is called over to help the team get an angle on the situation. Upon recognizing Hannah's name, he explains he had a regretful fling with her in New York. Meanwhile, Hannah confesses to being pregnant with Josh's child and seems to think they had a romantic connection. Jules insists they storm the house but Greg allows Sam to talk Sarah down. With Josh's help, Sam is successfully able to convince her but then Hannah starts to escalate and attacks. The team then storms the house to find Sarah stabbed.
Back at SRU Headquarters, Jules starts heavily criticizing Greg's decision, insisting that they could've disarmed Sarah before she got hurt. Greg admits they can't always know how a situation will play out. He then gets a call from the hospital and he tells everyone that Sarah will make a full recovery. At the end of the episode, Jules apologizes to Sam and then they leave to prime her drywall.
