Darren Kovacs is a character who appears in Behind The Blue Line. He is a former soldier and excellent hockey player.
In Behind The Blue Line[]
A character uncredited as Suit and another character credited as Demolition Expert were talking about dynamiting the Godwin Coliseum and the history of the building as they approached the arena. Before the pair could enter the arena, shot were fired, hitting Suit's leg. Some time later, Team One arrived on the scene and the injured Suit kept protesting at Spike and Wordy who were trying to gain more information from him as to where the shots came from. Just telling the pair to get inside to put his tax dollars to work, Spike removed the gauze bandage and ascertained the shots came from high.
Team One minus Jules entered with Greg reminiscing about who performed in this Coliseum. Ed told him to focus and as the group enter the same area, Spike noticed an infrared sensor and extending his tactical mirror, shots were fired all hitting the same spot. After the team deduced the rifle was out of ammunition, Sam and Leah retrieved it. Jules traced it to a Max Dykstra meanwhile the team heard voice across the PA system and converged towards it. They found the PA down but suddenly Ed received a call from Greg's phone despite the latter next to him. Greg remarked he left it in the conference room, their 'command post' and head there finding no one. Spike using an ultra-violet torchlight found prints on one part of the wall and the team deduced it was hidden passagway. Sam and Leah investigated, only for Sam to be nearly burnt with white phosphorous.
A former usher Charlie Howard arrived and presumed this subject is hiding in 'the bunker' and could only locate it if he walked pass the series of concession stands. Meanwhile, Sam attempted to text the subject and managed to while Jules placed pressure on Max. Max finally provided the subject's name, Darren Kovacs. Kovacs knew Sam's father through his reputation and through their initial conversation Sam learnt that Darren deeply loved the Godwin Coliseum where he played hockey. Max discovered Darren when the latter was young, trained him and Darren almost became a pro hockey player until he told Max he wish to play for another team. Darren returned one day and Max hardly recognised him.
