Flashpoint was a Canadian police drama television series that debuted on July 11, 2008, on CTV in Canada and CBS in the U.S.. Sniper and Critical Incident were former working titles. The original 2007 pilot for the series was filmed using the Critical Incident title. Sniper was used when CTV originally announced the series in late December 2007. It stars Enrico Colantoni, Hugh Dillon, Amy Jo Johnson, Sergio Di Zio, Michael Cram, Mark Taylor, later Jessica Steen, Tattiawna Jones, Olunike Adeliyi and Clé Bennett. Flashpoint follows the lives of several officers working for an elite police tactical unit known as Team One, part of the Strategic Response Unit. Team One is called in by regular police to resolve high-risk situations.

Broadcast[]

The series debuted on July 11, 2008 on CTV Television Network (CTV). In the United States, the series originally aired on CBS, then later aired on Ion Television - It was announced January 25, 2011 that Ion Television had acquired all rights to the show held by CBS including the option to continue production; in the United Kingdom it aired on Universal Channel. The series was also broadcast on the Canadian French-Canadian network V in Quebec, having launched on March 9, 2009.[1]After the fourth season of Flashpoint concluded, a fifth season was ordered;[2] starting to air in Canada in September 2012. On May 1, 2012, the producers announced that the fifth season would be the last of the series.[3] The series finale aired on December 13, 2012.
