Naming for Articles

Character Pages

see: Manual of Style/Character Pages
  • You can view the Character Pages but for ease, some parts will be explained here. Many character pages are already well formed. Characters are listed as for example "Gregory Parker".
  • Characters infocard or infobox - Always use: Template:infocard.character. Instead of the actor/actress in the template info, use the normal first, name last name style. See below.
  • If you have a licenced picture enter xyz.jpg, ignoring the 'File'. Under |img.width (if there's none) and enter 290px. If you enter the year - the episode year - the character was killed or died, the infobox should read DECEASED and have the same category below, so so don't need to list a category as such. See for example Goran Tomasic.
  • Occupation - Use for example Sue Fuller -- see her Occ part. If there's no clear occupation of the character, leave it blank. For Strategic Response Unit characters and other main characters don't touch the Occupation part, please. Ask Bureaucrats or Administrators for help.
  • portrayed.by - either enter the special template (see Episode:Keep The Peace, Part I.
  • |app.first = and |app.last = basically enter which episodes the character first appeared in, then the last episode. * Episodes here are listed as for example Episode:Scorpio; please do not change it as that was how the Wiki was formed.
  • |applist.lnk = hide - 'hide' means it won't appear. Use it if the character appeared only once in the series. If you don't enter 'hide', then 'List of Appearances' will appear. Click on in and enter for example Kira Marlowe/List of Appearances don't forget to enter the category listed below.

Naming of Articles for Cast/Crew

Cast / Crew

Names of Cast and Crew - actors, actresses, directors, writers, producers, creators - should have their article be named in the following format:
  • First name Surname for example, "Enrico Colantoni".
  • If they have two names as their first names eg. Amy Jo Johnson.
  • There is an infobox for Cast/Crew Template Person fill in information that you can find in the public domain - Birth Name (Full Name, not their stage or acting name), Date of Birth, Status - alive or passed away, Place of Birth - city, full state and country, Occupation, Portrays - which character here, imdb - if there's one.
  • Cast and crew bio should be written in the past tense - describing their career.

Episodes

  • Episodes - See: Template:infocard.episode
  • All episodes infocards are entered for all episodes.
  • Pictures/Images in the episode infocards - 1) It must be from that episode and not a general picture or from other episodes. 2) As with Characters - just enter XYZ.jpg, ignoring the File so the image will appear. Bureaucrats and Administrators wish only jpg or still format picture types for episode infoboxes. 3)Below the image, if it is not there, enter | img.size = 268px so the picture or image fits well.
  • The format for episodes are 'Synopsis' - a short summary 'Plot' - a longer summary what the plot is, 'Trivia', 'Goofs' - if any, 'Music' - if any. Then 'Cast' - main mostly already entered. 'Recurring Cast' - for example did Winnie Camden appear in the episode? 'Guest Starring' then 'Uncredited'. See for example Through A Glass Darkly.
  • Synopsis and plot should be written in the present tense. For cast, don't just use IMDB as the list there is not 100% accurate; watch the episode or check other TV sites.
  • After that, 'Producers' and 'Music'. Watch the episode or use IMDB to enter. Remember IMDB used the US dates not the CTV dates are per here.
  • In each episode page there should be tabs with labels 'Episode', 'Credits -now changing to 'Gallery', 'Transcript. Gallery is of course for a range of pictures from that episode not just the one in the infocard or infoox. Transcript are DMCA-ed transcript mostly taken from this site. Do help out or ask admins first.

Referring to Other Episodes

  • Use the Ep template (format {{ep|1|01}} echoes Scorpio to the screen) to refer to episodes from within another article or other page as a part of continuous text.

Referencing

  • Please reference news or websites using Cite News and Cite Web. To reference tweets, use Cite Tweet. If the templates don't appear on the page, try again or ask admins.
